no .. absolutely not.. today when u r aware of the fundamentals and the technical aspects you can surely go ahead with it.. but yea dont just do it blindly cos oders are doin it .. be sure when u r doin it do it with all the proper research where u r investing and what is d company all into .. i absolutely dont feel it is gambling... its investment !!!
Well it comes down to rationality. Rational investors invest based on rationality/reason. considering both kinds of analysis. Irrational investors follow the 'market herd' maintality. They are purely there to make profits. They rely on tips to earn money. For them surely it can be called as gambling. Whereas for rational investors its more about trying to master an art.
There can also be another differentiation: Traders and Investors. Traders conduct technical analysis( charts, bars, graphs) for purely trading purposes. Investors(short/long term) conduct fundamental analysis(company ratios, news, study company reports etc.) for investment purposes. Taking this into account traders at some level can be called gamblers.
if traders conduct technical analysis and are aware of the circumstances definitely they won't invest in the company where the technical analysis are not good .. i would say the people who just follow the herd of people to invest are the ones who gamble ..
